Jelon Hornbeak is being recruited hardest by the Big 12 and Big East.

As of late, the production of players such as Danuel House and Isaiah Austin for Texas PRO have been well documented. They deserve all of the credit that they have gotten, but when discussing the talent on one of the country's best AAU teams it would be a huge mistake to leave out Jelon Hornbeak.

Hornbeak is a talented combo guard who scores from all three levels and is a sure-fire high-major talent. He isn't quite sure which teams have offered him yet, but the Big 12 and Big East have been keeping tabs on him the most. "Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Providence, Missouri, Washington, Marquette, South Florida, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, and Vanderbilt," Hornbeak listed off when asked who has been recruiting him the hardest.

As far a leader goes, Hornbeak is wide open at this point. "No I mean everything is up for grabs. You never know what may happen between now and the time it comes to make my decision."

When coming to his decision, which he says he would like to make by the start of next high school season, he states that he is open to playing away from home. "I want to be able to play and be a factor. I don't mind the location. I want to be a good distance away from home just so I can grow up on my own."

Hornbeak is working on all parts of his game, including the mental aspects. "More of reading screen and rolls, right handed pull-ups, late game situational shots and decisions, and of course weights and ball handling."

Hornbeak is not currently in our top 100, but expect that to change when we update our rankings later this summer.
